With a fine mosaic of chakram, annapakshi, kolam, and elephant motifs, the red on white body of this intricately handwoven Chettinad cotton weave is a throwback to the classical shades of stiff cotton weaving from the Indian subcontinent. With a black on white palla and border with gold highlights, this weave is a geometrically perfect ode to the summer weaving traditions of the much-treasured Chettinad handlooms of yore.
