The palla of this saree, in particular, is a masterwork of blockprinting by hand — with antique blocks that are as fragile as they are rare to find, the birds in repose symbolise not only the finer forms of nature but also the skills of the artisan in printing each motif with an awe-inspiring instinct for geometric perfection.
